It’s not often that the landlocked SoCal armpit that is Riverside sees a show by the likes of BARRY McGEE and CLARE ROJAS but they sure got a hell of a good one in the duo’s joint exhibition, “The Big Sad,” which opened at the progressive RIVERSIDE ART MUSEUM on March 30th. Featuring an impressive array of mostly new work by each artist and a live musical performance by the elusive folkie, Peggy Honeywell (aka: Clare Rojas), the exhibition was a much-needed dose of culture that should hold the town over for another year. A packed house turned out to York City’s Showroom Gallery on April 3rd for the opening of Come Correct. The exhibit was presented by Cope2 and featured the legendary Bronx bomber alongside a mesh of straight up graffiti heavyweights and street artists-turned art stars, including T-Kid, Indie, West, Claw, Kaws, and Fafi.
