R.I.P. CHRISTOPHER HENDRICKS AKA POKE 1974-2010
New York City lost one of its native sons with the passing of Christopher Hendricks, better to known to friends and foes alike as POKE. He died on Thursday at the age of 35 from complications due to a long standing battle with Crohn’s disease. The Queens-born, graffiti addict (writer, photographer, gatekeeper) was one of those rare breeds who didn’t pull any punches and stayed passionate to the fullest. POKE will be missed by his Bomb Squad brothers, the mighty DMS crew, and a network of friends from coast to coast. RIP my man! (via)

The Writing on the Wall
Eric “DEAL” Felisbret spent one decade writing graffiti and has been documenting it in New York for three. He periodically visits graffiti hot spots like 5 Pointz in Queens to photograph the latest throwups, pieces, and tags by new and evolving graffiti writers for his website, at149st.com. On one visit, he explained how technology has changed the fundamentals of how some people do graffiti and pushed others to take the art to greater heights.
