With the recent passing of downtown street heart Dash Snow there has been a major outpouring of support for the infamous graffiti artist and well known photographer. He was an artist that pushed the boundaries and confronted society by pursuing a life of a downtown street kid.  Friends and family have come together to create an open memorial exhibition for the fans of Dash Snow. The show included never before seen Polaroids from Dash’s studio and other work Dash has compiled over his life time. The show was put together by Jade Berreau, Dan Colen, Jeffrey Deitch, Christophe de Menil, Kathy Grayson, Hanna Liden and Agathe Snow. The show will be running from July 23rd-August 15th. For images of the show check out the rest of the post.

  1. Yo, Yo , Say no to Drugs! This outside Dude did anything for Graffiti just being wealthy, stupid and hanging with a bunch of Mofo toys who claim they were Graffiti Artist. I never heard of this hipster toy, Just because he comes from a well to do family and that’s not wrong but had an better economic opportunity to be anything in the whole, and to praise this this poor soul Toy for scribbling on some walls and a freight (which is “not” a subway train) and really did not change or created a style this fine art form. There are far more talent true “Graffiti Artist ” that are changing and creating styles and truly enjoy this fine urban art form that should be praised. But choose and praise a burnt out white wealthy (who most likely had connections, that I call it the “safe” or ” way to go”, and “no threat to us”.) toy who wanted to be down. And have “Deitch Project ” for putting a show really does not have a true prospective of this art form. This tells again “it not what you know is who you know”! Really “Insulting” and ” Stupid” way this art form direction is going?
