“Here’s a good reason to never buy Sharpie or Prismacolor markers again. It’s no secret that the advertising world employs psychology as a weapon and that subliminal methods are in full effect. This is supposedly an ad about self expression yet at the 0:12 mark we are very quickly shown an image of three people holding signs that when combined, spell out very clearly, “YES, STOP PROTESTING NOW!” At the same time we are shown this image, the narrator says “NO PURPOSE.”
“Sharpie and Prismacolor are just a couple of the brands owned by Newell Rubbermaid (NYSE: NWL) who have an annual revenue of 5.7 billion dollars. The original Rubbermaid had risen to enormous marketshare and profits by making Walmart the near-sole distributor of its products, another reason not to support.
“In order to give the people an alternative to supporting these kind of brands, we will be releasing a line of superior quality BNE inks and markers. 100% of profits help fund clean water projects. If you want to make your mark on the world, start by thinking about what you are actually making your mark with.”
