Soak up 30 years of band history and memorabilia in a single spot at the Metallica Museum & Graffiti Art Expo. Take a stroll down Metallica memory lane and snap shots of the band’s rare guitars – like the originals James and Kirk used to record Kill ‘em All, Ride the Lightning, and Master of Puppets, Justice stage props, and vintage tour posters and t-shirts. Are you a Pusheadfan? Select pieces of his original Metallica artwork will be on display for all to see.
For live action art, check out the outside walls of the Metallica Museum where a few of the East Coast’s best-known graffiti crews will be applying paint with their own signature styles all weekend long as part of Orion’s Graffiti Art Expo. By the time the festival closes on Sunday, those basic walls will be transformed into one-of-a-kind pieces of art.
Since the early eighties, this New York City based world famous art collective has been a major force in the graffiti art world. They are bringing their innovative style to Orion Music + More, transforming one of the 40′ exterior walls of the Metallica Museum into an incredible ‘Tallica themed mural.
Street artist and rap pioneer Mr. Kaves and the Lordz of Brooklyn will also be on site at Orion crafting a Metallica-inspired design on a 24′ wall near the Ktulu Rock ‘N’ Roll Emporium. Orion marks Mr. Kaves’ second collaboration with Metallica; he was a featured artist in the Obey Your Master Art Tribute to Metallica in Los Angeles earlier in January.
A collaboration of natives from Brooklyn and Moscow street artists, Mint & Serf made the streets of New York City their canvas in 1997. Over the Orion Music + More weekend, stop by the Metallica Museum to see them bring one of the 40′ exterior walls to life with their own unique flavor.
