Remembering ALIVE 5

Two years ago, on this day, we lost a brother in the writing community. ALIVE 5 was a true soldier of the subway writing movement. The last time I saw and talked with ALIVE 5 we sat and tagged black books, subway maps, and exchanged stories of days gone by and of new works in progress. Every time I watch the opening scenes of Style Wars, there’s ALIVE 5 on the side of a subway car… for the world to see… for the world to know… ALIVE 5 is here to stay!
